About Us

Our Origin Story

Born from a passion for holistic care.

We are a place where warmth, care and a holistic approach to wellness are at the heart of everything.  That's how Trilogy Acupuncture and Wellness came to life.  It originated with just acupuncture by Stephanie Massimini back in 2009, and then slowly grew with practitioners who are friends.  We are a collective of practitioners sharing the same space aiming to provide exceptional treatment in a warm and nurturing environment.  We are united by our deep belief in treating not just symptoms, but the whole person.  We look forward to helping you on your

health and wellness journey for

mind - body - soul

Stephanie Massimini, L. Ac.
Acupuncture

Stephanie holds a Master Diploma from Eastern School of Acupuncture and Traditional Medicine in Montclair, NJ (2009). Her studies included Traditional Chinese Medicine, Kiiko Matsumoto Japanese, Five Element, Auricular, Food Therapy, Gua Sha, Cupping, Moxibustion and Tui Na.  She has also taken continuing education courses in Dr Tan and Master Tung styles.  She incorporates several styles to accommodate each patient's needs.  She is a Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) under the medical board in the state of Pennsylvania and a Certified Diplomate in Acupuncture (Dipl. Ac.) as recognized by the National Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (CCAOM).  Stephanie also holds a B. S. in Holistic Health from Empire State College and an A. S. in Physical Therapy (LPTA) from Harcum College  (2001), as well as a Level II Reiki Practitioner training.

As an intern, Stephanie's desire to help people was evident when she applied to volunteer at the Veteran's Hospital in East Orange, NJ.  Along with a very select group of peers, she was given the unique opportunity to proudly offer acupuncture to our Veterans and was among the pioneers who built the foundation of a back pain study.  While there she treated neck, shoulder and back pain, anxiety, stress, depression and other physical and emotional concerns.  She was very grateful to be able to give them some relief from their pain and have the opportunity to give back to our veterans.

Her decision to study acupuncture resulted from her positive experience as a patient herself, for treating her chronic back pain and anxiety.  Also, she watched her Mother suffer and lose her battle with cancer.  The loss and inability to ease her Mother's pain motivated her to find alternative ways to help others through difficult times.  Since 2001, she transitioned her practice from physical therapy, to medical massage and ultimately, started practicing acupuncture in 2009.  Collectively, she has been in the health care field for 22 years, and has helped thousands of patients with acupuncture. She takes special interest in treating pain conditions.  Specifically, neck, back, shoulder and knee pain as well as, anxiety, stress, depression and hormonal imbalances such as, menopause and menstrual irregularities.

Stephanie's passion for helping others shows from the moment she speaks with you to the minute you walk out of her door.  She has a gift for making patients feel welcome and comforted.

When she is not treating patients, she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, gardening, working out, traveling, listening to music and spending time outdoors in nature.  She welcomes you to contact her with any questions or interests you may have regarding acupuncture!

Steph Piacentino, RN, Certified Reflexologist
Massage, Reiki

Steph graduated as a registered nurse in 1997 and has been at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for over 20 years working in various nursing roles in the cardiac center. In 2020, she became a Reiki 2 practitioner. Although she loved practicing Reiki on friends and family, she felt like she wanted to do more and incorporate other modalities with Reiki. In 2022, she became a certified Reflexologist.  Steph is also currently back in school to become a certified massage therapist.  She loves creating a space for people to experience a relaxing reflexology session that includes the use of crystals, sound therapy, and hot stones and she may even pull an oracle card for you to send you on your way with a special message from spirit.

Reflexology was first discovered in the early 1900s and became a therapy in the 1930s. Reflexology is so much more than a foot massage! It is a type of therapy where reflexes on the foot correspond to organs and systems of the body. These reflexes on the feet mirror organs, glands and other parts of the body. Working through these reflexes brings about changes in the body and a reduction of symptoms and overall sense of relaxation. When the body is relaxed we are better able to heal. It is a great complement or adjunct therapy for any medical condition you are experiencing.

In her spare time, Steph enjoys exercise, spending time in nature, meditation and being with her 3 daughters, her husband and friends.  Steph welcomes you to reach out with any questions you may have regarding Reflexology!

Katie Marie, Certified Reiki Practitioner

Katie.jpg

Teaching and helping others has always been a passion for Katie.  She landed her dream teaching job in 2011 where she taught elementary aged students for eight years.  In the summer of 2018 she decided to sign up for her first Reiki session.  She didn't know much about it, but read about Reiki and wanted to give it a try.

After the session, she was impressed at how relaxed her body and mind felt!  She was so curious to learn more about it, which lead to her taking classes, workshops and becoming a certified Reiki Practitioner.

In April of 2019, her son was born and she made the decision not to return to her teaching career, but to stay home and care for her baby.  During that transition time, she took several courses with Intuitive Teacher, Julie Jancius and received certification through her program as Reiki Master Healer.  She began doing both distant and in person sessions and continues to do so today.  Katie is happy and honored to help people on their path of healing and be a conduit for the flow of universal energy that surrounds all of us.  Katie welcomes you to reach out with any questions you may have regarding Reiki!

Rich Scanlan, RYT
Yoga

Rich is a registered 200 RYT yoga instructor, and certified horticulturist. Rich started practicing yoga around 25 years ago. At the time, he was interested more in the spiritual aspects of it to help him with stress. As he practiced more, he recognized the physical benefits of yoga. He was weight training often, and yoga helped him with post workout recovery, as well as recognizing structural imbalances in his body.

Later in life, after the birth of his son, he decided to study the 200 hour YTT with the encouragement of family and friends. Through his practice, he wants to help others realize the importance of the mind – body connection. Not only does yoga help us physically, but also mentally and spiritually. When we are on the mat, yoga encourages us to be in the present moment, by focusing on our practice and not allowing our minds to wander. When we are in the present moment, this can help release any stress and/or anxiety, allowing us to feel physically and emotionally better. When Rich isn't working with plants or teaching yoga, he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, spending time in nature, cooking and working out. He welcomes you to reach out with any questions you may have regarding yoga (or plants!!)
